WordClick respects and protects the privacy of the individuals that use WordClick's Search Application ("WordClick Application"). Individually identifiable information about you is not willfully disclosed to any third party without first receiving your permission, as explained in this privacy policy ("Privacy Policy").
The WordClick software protects your privacy in the following ways:
- Does NOT collect ANY Personally Identifiable Information
- Does NOT use cookies
- Does NOT display annoying popups
- Does NOT track individual user data
- Does NOT track or log clickstream data
- Does NOT engage in any type of user profiling
- Does NOT compile a centralized database of users
Display of Search Results:
By downloading the software you give permission to WordClick to enable you to activate 1 click searching from IE, Mozilla, MS Outlook and Web Based Email services. The software enables you to select a word or word-set and perform simple clicking actions to initiate a search on the search target you choose.
In this way, WordClick is able to deliver relevant search results without sending your browsing activity back to WordClick -- and without establishing any profile about you (even anonymously) on WordClick servers.
Your privacy is also protected in the following manner:
- Your personally-identifiable information is not required in order to use the software. WordClick does not know your individual identity and does not attempt to discern it in any way.
- As you surf the Internet, your clickstream data (a log of all the sites you have visited) is not transmitted to WordClick or any third party server.
- WordClick does not assemble any personally-identifiable browsing profiles of you or your individual machine.
- WordClick does not assemble any anonymous machine-identifiable browsing profile of you or your machine.
- WordClick does not individually track which keywords you use or which Websites you visit -- all of our analysis and tracking of ads is done in the aggregate.
- Does NOT compile a centralized database of users
The software sends a limited amount of information from your desktop so we may count the number of users in our network and optimize the performance and relevancy of our search engine.
WordClick has intentionally limited the communication back to our servers in order to protect your privacy in the following ways:
(a) The software does not place any cookies on your desktop.
(b) Each individual desktop is assigned an anonymous, unique machine ID KEN DOES THE SOFTWARE DO THIS?. This machine ID is used only to enable WordClick to count unique, active desktops in the network. The machine ID is not used to determine which ads to serve individual users or to create browsing profiles of users.
(c) To protect your privacy and prevent WordClick or any third party from assembling individual user profiles, or knowing which websites you visit, your unique machine ID is intentionally excluded from the limited communications sent back to WordClick that may include a URL or such other browsing-specific information.
Intellectual Property:
You acknowledge that WordClick or third parties own all right, title and interest in and to WordClick, portions thereof, or software or content provided through or in conjunction with WordClick, including without limitation all Intellectual Property Rights.
"Intellectual Property Rights" means any and all rights existing from time to time under patent law, copyright law, trade secret law, trademark law, unfair competition law, and any and all other proprietary rights, and any and all applications, renewals, extensions and restorations thereof, now or hereafter in force and effect worldwide. You agree not to (and agree not to allow third parties to) modify, adapt, translate, prepare derivative works from, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive source code from WordClick, or to extract significant portions of WordClick’s functionality for use in other applications. You also agree to (and agree not to allow third parties to) not remove, obscure, or alter WordClick's or any third party's copyright notice, trademarks, or other proprietary rights notices affixed to or contained within or accessed in conjunction with or through WordClick.
What Information We Collect:
WordClick does not collect any unique information about you (such as your name, email address, etc.) except when you specifically and knowingly provide such information. WordClick notes and saves information such as time of day, browser type, browser language, and IP address with each query. That information is used to verify our records and to provide more relevant services to users. For example, WordClick may use your IP address or browser language to determine which language to use when showing search results or advertisements.
Your copy of WordClick includes a unique application number. The unique application number is required for WordClick Desktop to work and cannot be disabled. When you install WordClick, this number and a message indicating whether the installation succeeded is sent back to WordClick so that we can make the software work better. Additionally, when WordClick automatically checks to see if a new version is available, the current version number and the unique application number are sent to our servers.
WordClick is NOT Spyware:
Spyware is software that reports on your activities or gathers personal information about you and sends it via the Internet to third parties without your knowledge or consent. Unlike spyware, WordClick is installed ONLY with your explicit consent, and it does NOT send personal information to WordClick or any other third party.
Links to Other Sites:
The sites displayed as search results or linked to by WordClick Application are developed by people over whom WordClick exercises no control. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. When you are interacting with the links displayed on the results pages generated by WordClick, you are no longer interacting with the WordClick Software, rather you are interacting directly with the sites from which those results are generated.
Your consent and changes to the Privacy Policy:
By using the WordClick Application and our web site, you consent to the collection and use of your information as we have outlined in this policy and to our "Terms of Service Policy". WordClick may decide to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
