WORDCLICK LLC INTRODUCES NEW CLICK-TO-SEARCH TECHNOLOGY WHICH PROVIDES A MORE EFFICIENT WAY TO SEARCH THE INTERNET

WordClick 1.0 BETA is a small downloadable application that enables Internet users to initiate web searches by simply mouse-clicking on any word in a web page or email message

New York, NY - March 22, 2006 – WordClick LCC, developer of the new patent-pending Click-to-Search technology, today announced the release of WordClick 1.0 BETA (demo now available at www.wordclick.com). The revolutionary new downloadable software application provides an easier and more efficient method for Internet users to quickly get results from their favorite search engines, including Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, eBay, Amazon, Wikipedia, Dictionary.com and many others.

WordClick users are able to initiate search queries by simply clicking (alt-clicking or double-clicking) on any word (or set of words) within a webpage or email. Since the user can only point its mouse at a single area of one word, and many desired search terms include multiple words, WordClick automatically recognizes when a string of words should be taken together to form the desired query. For instance keywords such as, ‘Britney Spears’, ‘Philip Seymour Hoffman’ or ‘XX Winter Olympics’ are recognized as a multiple-word search term and the appropriate results are returned.

Currently when a fairly sophisticated Internet user wants to perform a search for a word they see in a webpage or email, they must either (i) copy the word to the clipboard, (ii) open a browser window, (iii) paste the text into their favorite search engine, and (iv) then click the search button to access results. For less sophisticated users, the alternative includes opening a browser window and manually retyping the (potentially long) search term into a web interface.

WordClick reduces this multiple step process to a single user input action. When a user hovers its mouse over a keyword that they want to search for, the words are visibly transformed into a ‘searchlink’, which when clicked (or double clicked), returns results from the search engine the user configured for either action. Results are displayed in a new browser window, which can be set to launch in the foreground or background.

Users can set the speed at which words are transformed into searchlinks when hovering their mouse, and choose their favorite search engine or online service to retrieve results for both single-click and double-click actions. Currently there are over a dozen ‘search targets’ available for end users to choose from, including MSN, Yahoo, Google, eBay, Amazon.com, MapQuest, Dictionary.com, Wickapedia and many others. The goal of the company is to eventually offer easy access to hundreds of different search result sources.

Wide use of Internet search engines for locating information is now an accepted practice. There were over 4.4 trillion domestic search queries in 2004. Now with a growing number of users logging on to the Internet to obtain information from a growing number of Internet ready devices, the ease and availability of searchable information is becoming a necessity.

While Internet users have a wide choice of search engines available at their disposal to locate desired information, it remains a manual process to access desired results for specific search terms and there are few utilities that makes navigating textual content more interactive. For instance, in the event a user sees a term within a computer document (such as a webpage, email, instant message, PDF file, or mobile text) that they would like to retrieve information results for, there are a number of time consuming steps required from them to do so. WordClick reduces this process to a single input action (click or double-click).

The free WordClick downloadable application does not contain any so called adware, spyware or malware, and does not collect any personal information whatsoever. Users can download WordClick 1.0 for free at www.wordclick.com or find it bundled with a growing number of popular software applications and games.

“WordClick is a search play that does not compete in any way with the established companies in the space, instead WordClick provides an easier and more efficient means for end users to utilize these ubiquitous online services.” said Avner Parnes, Executive Director, WordClick LLC. “Jupiter Research projects the search industry will generate nearly $7 billion in 2008. There is a real opportunity here for WordClick to help meet or exceed these projections.”

“We are actively seeking Partners with software distributors and search content providers.” said Scott Halpert, President, WordClick LLC. “There are currently 121 million search users in the US, each performing an average of 23 queries per month. We think that WordClick will replace many of these currently ‘manual’ queries, and allow us to drive significant quality traffic our content partners.”

WordClick currently works with Microsoft Internet Explorer™ and Microsoft Outlook™. “WordClick 1.0 is just the beginning. Very soon WordClick will integrate with dozens of popular applications, including various Instant Messaging clients, Adobe’s Acrobat Reader, and Microsoft Office™ suite.” said WordClick CTO Curtis May, lead architect of the leading script writing software, Final Draft.

“The primary goal of WordClick LLC is to enhance the user’s ability to search the web via personal computer or mobile device.” stated WordClick Founder, Ken Mayer. “This includes making advanced searching techniques more accessible to the average user and to allow searches to be performed simply, quickly and unobtrusively from any software application. Our goal as a company is just that.”
